Default Is this what I should get?

I'm going to be buying a brand new civic in the next month. I have never owned one but know they are great cars. I'm planing on buying a EX Sedan because it has the VTEC. In the future I want to mod this car. I don't know if this engine is better then the model that is in the LX and lower for moding and make more power. Also any options I should look at getting or not getting.

Any advise would be great. I know alot about cars in general just don't know much about Honda's yet.

Thanks

Ex 4 door would be a great family car. When you talking abut modding the car you really have tons of bolt-ons from intake, cat back exhaust, etc..... the list goes on and on. I hope you not expecting this thing to run super fast though, it is a 4 door that has some weight to it. Good luck and watch out for big wings

You also might want to consider purchasing a pre-owned '96-'00 model. There is a tremendous amount of after market support for them, they're generally more "modification-friendly", and you would save a bit of money that you could then spend on upgrades.

I currenty have a 98 Z28 and a 85 Supra, I don't expect to be all that fast stock. But I could see in the future doing some modding probably a Turbo once the warranty runs out. Or maybe even a Engine Swap.

Thanks for all your thoughts.
