Intermediate shaft probelm, fix okay? Grinded block....
Well, some of you may know if bee getting my setup together and have been having tons of problems with the car i am now calling 'bitch'.
Before i start, this is on a gsr motor, and it is a good condition del sol vtec coupe intermediate shaft.
So i bolted the tranny to the motor last night (everything still out of the car) and that went pretty smooth. Slid the intermediate shaft in, went in nice and smooth just like when i test fit everything. But, when i went to bolt the intermediate shaft on, rotating the bolt holes upward, it was hitting the block and wouldnt bolt up.
So after some inspection, my dads like grind the block down, and me being the impatient guy i am was like SURE. So i ended up gringing the block down where the intermediate shaft bolts to the block about 1/4 inch (just before i got to the threads inside the holes.
Made sure it was as smooth/flat as we could get it, and secured everything with the three bolts and a washer setup.
The shaft spins freely and there doesnt seem to be any problems. Should this work out for me? Thanks guys, josh
PS; i have pics of the fix, but i dont have the power cord to the camera so it wont connect to the computer
