idling and driving problems on 99 ex
I just bought a 99 civic ex coupe about a week ago, and just to keep up on matainence I decided to do a tune up on it. Well it did not turn out so good. This is what I did. Fram air filter, duetch fuel filter, denso iridium spark plugs, royal purple 5w30 oil, mobil 1 oil filter, and royal purple in tranny 10w30. Well after I got done installing all of this I started it up and right away it threw a check light. It was idling at about 1100 to 1200 rpms and black snoke was coming out the back. The first thing I thought is it is running rich. So I decided to drive it to work and back to see if the problem would clear up. Well it did for a little while and then went back to running rich. When I am driving it, it seems to chug a little its kinda jumpy, and on take off the rpms drop and it seems like it wants to die. I took it to autozone and they hooked up their little scanner and it said the MAP sensor sensed high voltage or something. I need help really bad could it be a vaccuum hose or the MAP sensor itself or misgapped plugs by the way we did gap them before putting them in. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
by the way this is the code that came up thought this might help and does any one know what it means- P0108 Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Circuit High Voltage
