whats your input on my cause of high oil pressure?
ok, ill let you know my motor setup for reference..
new sleeved/built 2.0l ls block(84mm,8.5:1compression)
stock itr head w/ gt35 turbo setup...stock gsr oil pump(nonmodified)
i installed a aftermarket oil pressure gauge w/ sending unit and initial startup gauge reads around 60psi, i took the car for the first testdrive yesterday, never broke 3k and only drove for about 1.5miles before i noticed my gauge was reading up around 100psi? i immediatley coasted vehicle the rest of the way home and let it cool down and checked oil...dipdtick read about 1/4 of a quart too much oil..could that be the cause? i also have a golden eagle sandwich adaptor for turbo line and i have t for vtec line and sending unit...please give me any info you can provide and please no "do a search" or "im tired of these noob" either leave + feedback or non at all...thank you

High Oil Pressure :
1. stuck pressure-relief valve (on oil pump)
2. wrong spring in the pressure-relief valve
3. clogged oil line
4. thick oil (do you change your own oil, maybe viscosity is to thick for your environment or engine setup)
I hope this helps.......let me know

well the company(inlinepro) who built it recommended this oil pump(gsr) w/ my motor setup so i doubt thats wrong..doubtfull on the oil line, you might ahve to elaborate on how it could be the lines..but maybe too thick of oil though...running 5w30 for now...i was told by a few people until this motor is broke in to use 5w30 then i can switch over....is this correct??
which oil filter are you using? When I used a stock honda replacement oil filter my oil pressure was arund 85-90 psi when engine was warming up, and when was at operating temp i was at 60psi. This was on a boosted d16a6 with a oil t to the turbo and to the oil pressure gauge. Remember you are using a vtec oil pump which is a bit higher volume pump to begin with. 5w30 is a thin oil thats maybe why your pressure is so high, try using a 15w50 or 20w50 oil once your engine is broken in. wont break down as quickly with the high temperature of the turbo. I ended up using a fram oil filter and loved it the best, the honda ones just gave me too much pressure.
let me know.
later ... Chris
let me know.

yea, im using fram also...but imma try a few other things and see what happens(change filter,change sending unit(mineshooked to a t also 4 vtec), drain a little bit of oil out..maybe change type of oil also
thanks guys
