my civic eats more gas than a dodge viper.
my buddy's hatch (92) has a gsr swap. There are no check engine lights and the car pulls like a sunofabitch. The problem is it uses enormous amounts of gas. It even smokes because of how rich it is. Fuel pressure was at 50-55psi w/vaccum line connected. What gives??? Car wasnt doing this w/ stock engine. Please help. Its getting pretty expensive driving this everyday. Im talkin like 4-8 mpg. city. Or if i get on it and go through the gears, its even worse. It could prolly go through a full tank of gas at the track after 15 passes.

It's Great, I love the Eibach's Thanks
When was the last time you did a general tune up? Also, swap out that FPR because, The fuel pressure should not be that high. That high fuel pressure is a major cause of the shitty MPG IMO. It's on a P72?

Sounds like a leak to me. Very few things would cause 4-8mpg without severe side effects, and a leak is one of them. Do you smell alot of fuel (not rich gas smell, just fuel)
well i switched the regulator for a single cam one i had lying around and it didnt fix it. While i was doing that i put the fuel return into a bucket and check the fuel pressure.................42psi (stock i beleive). but when i put the regulator back on it went back up. so im starting to beleive my fuel return line (solid one under car) is clogged. Im gonna try and blow it out.

Barry is incredible. Great work and hes a great guy. He stands by his work 100 percent. If you need more info let me know.

It has to be an external leak.Your air/fuel would be like 2:1.I've driven na cars that were 10:1 and they were dogs. That rich you would have a gallon in the oil pan every hour.

it smokes when you get on it and if you let it idle buy it self for a while or rev it up before you shut it off it wont start again w/out cleaning plugsw/ brake cleaner.
that vacuum line running to the reg. .. does it have vacuum..... check... it might just be a dead line.. and that would make it run at WIDE open fuel pressure.. all the time..
Lets see....you disconnect the return line and pressure drops to what its suppose to be.
You re-connect the return line and now the fuel pressure is back to being high.
I think your assumption of a blocked/clogged return line might be the ticket.
