someone told me a way to do a leak down test was set the cyl. to TDC and if u dont have the tool hook ur comp. up to the hose off a comp. checker and put the tank at 100psi and fill the cyl....then just listen for leaks. has any one done this? any one know if this works? please let me know....i cant seem to find a shop around here to do one for cheap (one shop said 125 bucks!) and i cant use my friends till monday....please let me know

it would work, but still wont know the % of leakdown.

 

It works great if your just trying to diagnose a bad compresion leak. I use the hose off my compresion gauge.

 

yep, i build my own using a hose from a compressor tester( just take out the check valve) and used this instructions:
