Roebling Road SCCA School Feb 10-13. Who's going?
<raising hand> I am! I am!
I'm excited, I just hope the car will be all right. I have already started not sleeping well.
Anybody else from HT going to go?

BECAUSE you're a wuss who drives a FWD car .
(much sarcasm)
Seriously, it seems like I've driven on track as much in the rain as I have in the dry. The first time was at Summit... I was caught off guard in turn 4, needless to say I learned that "flat" doesn't necessarily mean to-the-floor... 4 wheel drift y0!
At least at Roebling there was lots o' run off room. The shaved Toyos 3/32 were fine for the majority of the time, as long as I kept that perverbial egg between my right foot and the go pedal.
Oh SJR, I did a little "nerd note" on the experience. I read over it and there might be a couple of things helpful?...

I'm learning to like it, the rain that is... I don't mind driving in, I just hate having my socks get all wet and yucky.
Thanks for catching negativity toward the rain... I like the rain, I really do,... no, really.

thanks for the writeup Dave. That was informative. Except you don't mention WHERE that good coffee shop is!
Richy, I aint about to buy a race car after building one!
Now, if you had been selling yours about 1.5 years ago, that would have been a different story.
I don't know how I feel about the rain.
1- never driven this car
2- I have two sets of used dry tires (Hoosiers) and only one set of used Dirt stockers... Do they have tire support at the track?
3- did I mention that I have no idea how the car is going to handle? I am keeping the front sway bar for now in order to keep it from snap oversteering. I can always remove it later, or during the weekend as I get more comfortable with the car.
4- I don't think I'd enjoy sitting in soggy Nomex all weekend.
but we'll see. I do plan on having a lot of fun.

Always.
SEDIV SCCA = Tire Support from at least one place 100% of the time.

been there 3 years in a row and all 3 got some rain ... you'll "feel" rain I feel certain. But yes, do have fun (and don't worry about the rain).

What Adam said. And if you have Dirt Stockers you'll be in the minority and should be able to stay out of trouble by sheer virtue of running away from most everybody.
Scott, who remembers Sage's CRX and a little Spridget kicking the entire group's *** (including GT and SPO cars) last year.

I ran on bald Kumhos too. Was it fun? Oh hell yeah! Actually I felt like a rally driver.
SJR,
I knew you had you car already. You never know who my might be reading this post. By the way, loose that front sway bar. Also, if it rains, disconnect your rear sway bar (simply undo one of the endlinks) and soften all your suspension. Have great time!

Zsolt, I've got one set of bald 3 year old R3S03s, and one set of bald one year old R3S04s.
Then some 2-3 year old, half used Dirt stockers. I ain't no wimp, I only use used tires!
Thanks for the advice Richy. I'll trust Scott to setup the car appropriately for me.
Now hurry up and sell that CRX so you can buy another car!

Oh, yeah sorry about that... I thought the same thing reading back over that.
Let's see, I don't remember specifics, but from the race track, towards the certer of Pooler... Western Sizzlin' would be on your left. Hotels, hotels, road comes back together, and then just about when in the distance it looks like the end of civilization on your right-hand side there's a small strip mall, the coffee shop is in with some Chinese food place. I'll see if I can dig up some more info.
Wait... google(ing)
I think this is the place:

PS, I ran on new shaved Toyos in the rain... absosmurfly fine.
