no CEL's at all.....we fired the motor up with oil in it! It ran fine it seemed but the oil light was on so we thought that was odd.

Thats a better answer......well shouldnt the oil get to the filter b4 it goes back down to the crank? Right now theres oil down in the pan but its not circulating...we pour oil in...goes through the correct passages to get to the pan but not getting back up.

jeez it was a joke..
you have to prime the oil pump. pull the spark plugs and injector clips and let it crank for a good 30 seconds and it should build some pressure.

My inital thought is that the oil pressure switch is bad but you said you confirmed that there was NO oil in the filter.
The only thing I can think of is that there is a blockage in there somewhere. Did you replace or inspect the oil pickup tube/oil screen when you did the pump?

Ok i just took a quick look through my helms because this is pretty weird. Only thing i could home up with is that your oil screen might be clogged. Kind of like Flood said of a blockage. Pull the oil pain and check it out. Ill keep looking for you.
Have you pulled the oil pan to see if the pickup screen could be clogged? How long did you try to run it before you noticed the oil light was on?

Yea...thats the only thing we think it can be too....double checking our screen and pasages for blockage. Thanks!

No leaks!

I was thinking the same thing as everyone else. But if you say you replaced/cleaned the oil pick up/screen, then the only thing after that I can think of is that the journals are clogged. Did you clean out the oil pan before you put it back on? There could have been some really thick sludge somewhere that was sucked up.
Is it a factory oil filter? Sometimes, the plastic wrap that covers the filter gets stuck in the filter. I have a buddy who works at acura and has seen it happen , since most people take that plastic off by pushing it in with their finger, Check one of your main bearings by pulling one of the main caps, look for excessive wear or flakes in the bottom of the pan, also take a pipe cleaner and clean out the oil galleys in the block, you will have to take the oil pump off , but then you will know they are not the problem. You could also loosen the filter a bit so that when you do crank it around if the oil is flowing you can see it flow out of the block, but do NOT start it with the filter loose, 70psi of oil pressure goes a long way.
