Default shifting gear from neutral to drive at 50 MPH

Hi
My Honda accord (2004) gear shifted from D4 to D3 by mistake while I tried to pull my cell phone out. I tried to move it to D4 but it moved to Neutral and then I changed to D4 again. All this happened while I was driving at 50MPH. I saw the RPM shoot up to 7 or 8. Does this damage the gears or anything? Do I need to have my car inspected?

Thanks

can't you rev match it so it catches gears quicker?

If you know how to rev-match (like with a manual), you can do that. Then your tranny won't get so mad at you...

He didn't do this on purpose, so I bet he's not gonna keep doing it. Even with rev-matching, that's not something you should keep doing with an auto-tranny.
