Default # of injectors?

In high hp applications. What would be better (or easier), 4 injectors at a high cc or more at lower cc?

4 injectors is always easier and more effecient. I don't like the extra injector route unless you take the time to set it up perfectly (i.e. NOT in the intake piping), in the manifold to ensure equal fuel delivery..

u cant really run 8 injectors well with a stock ecu... im not even gonna enterntain the "injectors in the intake pipe"

u need astandalone to run 8 inj.... many people who run haltec (sp) run 8 injectors cuz it can be done well with that ecu... (u can also take out the distributor )

if you're going to play with 8 injectors (4 main, 4 additional) this is the only sure way to do it. I've done the "injectors in the intake pipe" thing before, and all I ended up with was bad fuel economy, and broken pistons. It can be done, but you do need to run a piggyback ECU (something that is able to advance/retard ignition as well as control the additional injectors) to run the additional injectors. That does NOT include using a GReddy Rebic or a HKS AIC controller either.. I find they don't work well unless you have something else that can control ignition.

Of course, if you can't be bothered with all of this, just go standalone.

Yeah guys, I was planning to go with a standalone. My idea of high hp is 500+whp for race use only. This is the plan so far.. ls/vtec sleeved w. golden eagle 84mm b16 head p&p je,eagle rods,t04x, xs eng. intercooler ect....

I assumed you were talking about staged injection and not an auxiliary injector control like nathan's boosted civic is talking about.

If this is an all out race only car. Staged injection is a definite possibility. Large injectors placed well back in the runners or even pointing at the runners from inside the plenum will help the fuel disperse more evenly. Your standalone needs to support staged injection.

I wouldn't want to drive it on the street much, though.
