Im a noob. Need a list of everything needed to put a d16z6 into a 94 dx coupe.
Ok, so I bought a D16z6 for my 94 civic DX coupe, and the guy that sold it to me told me that pretty much everything would bolt up, with a few slight exceptions. I knew that I would need a new ecu and that wiring the vtec would be a chore, but I'm looking at the motor, and theres a lot of stuff that doesn't look the same. As you can tell I know absolutely nothing about Hondas. I'm not building it to drag or anything, but I just wanted a little more power and I plan on giving the car a full visual makeover. If anybody knows what parts I would need or anything, or some online swap guides or something, it would be appreciated. thanks. - Ryan
I did this swap like 2-3 years ago. Very easy to do.
Get the motor mounts from the z6 as they aren't the same from the dx
make sure you mark where the hoses go.
just losen the one nut on the throttle cable to take it off, so when you put it back on don't really have to readjust everything.
axles are the same.
p/s, a/c all bolt up to the same spots.
Ohh! grab the header also since its different.
Thats about it. The things that got me b/c I thought they were the same was the header and motor mounts. multiple trips to junkyard grabing those parts.
Have fun! You'll feel the power instantly after the swap.
