88 si gives better mileage than 91 si

i have a 88 crx si, it gives me better fuel economy and is faster than my 91 crx si.. wierd.

2017 pounds for the 1988 SI and 2174 pounds for the 1991 SI. I should also note that the 1988 SI was rated at only 105HP vs 108HP for the 1991. This could be the result of a cam grind that could give better fuel economy. Keep in mind, however, that despite the 1988 having 3 less HP, it still comes out ahead due to its higher power-to-weight ratio.
