so...im at the race track....first night its open after winter...
i line up....launch it....wheel hop like a son of a bitch...dash about falls off
hit 2nd gear...again...wheel hop like crazy
hit 3rd gear...again...wheel hop....but this time...it goes...CRACK!...

and i pop my hood to this....



the bottom bolt that u cant see....gone...completly broke off along with the casing that surrounds the bolt....top one just cracked...only held in there by a few threads...

oh and thats my rear torque mount for those who are a bit confused...

life sucks ***.....how does this happen?!?

 

same thing happened to me but the bottom holes ar stripped and the top is missing alittle chumk smaller than urs. i just threaded them in but they are loose. they seem to be holding so far ::knocks on wood::

wheel hop comes from bad bushings. get motor mount inserts.

Wheel hop comes from bad EG/EK/DC Front crossmember design from the factory. I recommend a Titanium Lakewood traction bar. You can get them for $350 shipped right now from i think Titan Motorsports.

That does suck. Wheelhop is basicly a jackhammer on everything attached to the motor, including the mounts and axles. At least now you should know that wheel hop is bad and you should let off instead of letting it continue through 3 gears until something breaks

if anybody can see where it is...its right above the diff...anyone know how to fix that without havin to get a new tranny?

 

youd have to TIG a chunk of aluminum stock on the back of the tranny where the bolt threads are broke. Then drill it ou tand tap it with the proper tap. And use a bolt that accompanies the tap's thread properly.

its a type r tranny...so it has lsd....unless the douche bag lied to me haha...

same exact thing happened to me recently. i just ended up replacing my old tranny w/type r tranny. you can always buy that half of the casing from honda. it's like 200 bucks.

traction bars will help, but will not cure your severe wheel hop problems...
you should first look elsewhere to fix your problems; bushings-balljoints-motor mounts and such.
i use poly lower arm bushings and diy poly mounts and experience no wheelhop
