Yes, what kind of unit is it? Also, being that the error code is not constant, you may be able to remedy the situation by resetting the unit. Some radio's have a reset button on them (can be on the front of rear, check owners manual), if not you can disconnect your battery for a few minutes which should also reset the unit. Before doing any of this though look in your owners manual and see what the error code means.

I have already tried to reset the unit by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and replacing it...I entered the security code and it still didnt work...every cd you put into the player the display reads "p-E 0".

btw its a stock itr cd player

we had this problem on our 99 prelude... after having replaced not one but TWO decks under warranty (and waiting like 1/2 a day for the service dept to put it in under warranty) we finally said F--- it and replaced the deck.. this happened 3 times in 2 years (1 - stock deck, 2 - replaced under warranty)... though not a type R.. we got the same error msg..

i didnt really ask.. the service manager is a jerk didnt really want to talk to him after they agreed to replace the deck.. he was saying that most of my cd's are burned (CD-Rs) and it was designed to play on pre-recorded audio cds... he was replacing it under warranty though so i didnt really ask him.. Im also on a prelude list and this seems to happen frequently... maybe the prelude decks just suck..

its not only the decks in the lude...the R decks suck just as bad...im thinking of not even going to the dealer and having them replace it under warranty...i think ill just get a new deck
