Viper alarm sensitivity
My apartment manager is pissed off because my alarm goes off all the time. I've been wanting to decrease the sensitivity but do not remember how, I know that the dial to do so is up behind my fuse box under my steering wheel but I can't find it. Anybody else with a viper alarm know where they usually stick it or what it looks like. I don't want my car getting towed or anything, my manager's kinda of a bitch. Thank you

Re: Viper alarm sensitivity (rice_classic)
well i had a 550 and the sensor is pretty small.. maybe like 1" x .5" it was in a clear plastic case and my installer mounted it on the steering column.. so try looking for it there.. also i think their powered all the time.. so if its dark w/ the alarm disarmed try thumping the interior.. i think the LED on the shock sensor still lights up when it senses shock...
not sure if urs is sumilar.. but its a clear sensor w/ yellow/orange sensitivity dial..to turn down sensitivity u turn it counter clockwise.. you will need a small screwdriver or else it wont fit in the case/hole..
i dont have this alarm anymore and it was like a 96 or so model.. so im not sure if they changed designs.. hope this helps..

Re: Viper alarm sensitivity (machaf)
Are you talking about the shock sensor or the radar/proximity sensor. If it is the shock sensor you should have the 1x1x.5 box under your dash zip tied to your steering colunm. On the side of it there is a little screw adjustment. Adjust it, get out of your car and test it. It is dual zone, meaning that there should be a warn away chirp and then the full alarm. It is only one adjustment. If the shock sensor is part of the alarm brain (which some older ones are) there should also be a set screw on the side of it that can be adjusted. The proximity sensor work just about the same way.
Good luck
