Well a friend of mine had a JVC Kameleon head unit working just fine in their Toyota Celica...they got a new car and a new deck and I decided I would make a nab for the kameleon...always been a fan.

I'm having the hardest time getting my head unit to work in my car. The deck has a diagram showing the following :

Orange/White = Illumination
Yellow = Battery
Black = Ground
Blue/White = Remote
Red = Accessory
White = Front Left Pos
White/Black = Front Left Neg
Green = Rear Left Pos
Green/Black = Rear Left Neg
Gray = Front Right Pos
Gray/Black = Front Right Neg
Purple = Rear Right Pos
Purple/Black = Rear Right Neg

When matching up the colors with the purpose they all seem to match up exactly on my deck as they do to my car. Now here is the problem I am having...Wiring all the speakers...the battery...the ground...and the accesory wires (excluding the remote...and illumination) the deck won't turn on. I noticed that when the Blue/White wire (Remote) touched some metal on my car...the unit turned on like magic. So i figured HMMM maybe the diagrams where wrong and by some miracle the blue/white wire is the ground...so i switched to Black with the Blue/White wire...and it will turn on just fine. BUT for some reason the volume doesn't kick in until 35....and it cuts off after 44....and that when playing at a volume of 44 it plays veeery quiet (as if it where playing at a volume of 9...since it didn't even start playing until volume level 35) .....this has been stumping me for quite some time and I figured I would post and see if I could get any feedback...

Nevermind I got it...Who would have guessed that the Kameleon has a security feature where if you don't ground something around the casing...the deck won't work! HAHA It's working great now tho...
