silver or white ep3, new or used ?
Basically I am looking at either a new or used EP3 in either white or silver
What I am hoping for is owner feedback on the durability of the 2 paint choices, particular pluses and minuses of buying new or used between the available years ect.
an example would be "I bought an 02 but because of trans issues I wish I had bought an 04" or "the silver paint turns to ish quickly" ect
What I don't care for is comments about other cars I should buy instead ect, but if you really feel you must be my guest. Also I am not interested in purchasing one from this board as I have had too many bad experiences buying vehicles here so sellers need not apply.
- thx

i prefer white, everyone around here seems to have silver or blue. might as well get a new one, they are going for cheap at the dealership. at least get an 04...upgraded suspension tuning, 5-lugs and larger wheels. nicer headlights, uglier taillights.
in terms of paint, my frost white integra(i know that taffeta white took place of frost white) still looks like new. my dad bought the car new and it's always been waxed and such. we have a satin silver civic, paint is holding up very well also. seems that light scratches show up pretty easily though. nothing to worry about.

no love for the NBP?
I've had my 02 for 4 months. no problems yet. I love it. I'd say used is the way to go. let someone else eat the depreciation. plus I like the taillights better.

I live in cali d00d with smog road debris and the santa ana winds + el nino. My first choice would be black but paint swirls are a heart breaker

I bought brand new, because the last used DA I bought I had nothing but trouble out of it. I had wanted white, but they werent any white ones within a reasonable distance from the dealer so I settled for silver since it was a close second in my book.

Go used....picked up ours for $11,700 in July 2003 with 21K miles on it. It's silver, never had any problems with the car. Paint still looks brand new with 62K on it right now. The car is a real pleasure to drive.
^^ haha...
i would say white...only because white + carbon fiber = tha shiznit... mine is an 02 btw and i have not had any problems with it...*knocks on wood* as far as new or used...used if u trust the person didn't rag on it...new if u can not find a decent used one...

sorry but I ******* hate the carbon look
I drove a McLaren F1 which is the top of all things carbon and nowhere on the outside can it be seen. It's because true ballers floss there whole ride and not just highlight one or two parts of it.

Good call. The riced-out CF look is so tired.
Get the white over the silver. White looks better and also has LOWER resale value than any other color. That means that you should be able to get into a white one for a bit less. NBP was my first choice (which I got) and white was my #2.

white....i had a silver which was nice but got into a white....you can see the lines of the car so much better and white looks visually beefier.....mine is for sale....even though you dont want to hear that but i am just a trial user.......
White
Although i am biased i guess
Being in Cali also white is a good choice. For the heat atleast. I would also go with new. Some mentioned letting someone else eat the depreciation but to me.....that peace of mind of knowing its only been yours, knowing exactly what the car has been through, and that new car smell are worth the lets say 3g you lose. Goodluck with your choice bud

Agreed 100%!
I'm tired of investing in someone else's hidden problems. Having said that, my '05 Taffeta White Si should be arriving state-side soon!
Question for the panel here: I don't know why, but every car I currently own, I know the VIN # by heart. I try to forget them but they just won't go away!
Anyone else?
