There is an R32 skyline here that has run 8.55 @ 165mph on DOT slicks..
Its for sale aswell.. Not sure of the money, the car is still running almost all the factory panels and can probably lose another 100-200lbs quite easily.. I also beleive it has over 1400hp.

 

all the othe othe japanese manufactures have nice cars in jdmland...where is that honda that everyone is trying to get over. yeah its to to be RHD...but where is our r32, r34, .......dayum honda. can we get some rwd, awd fun from honda. i think if u asked most honda drivers would the take a skyline over a type r...i think they would choose the skyline. i would go skyline over s2k.

OT: funny thing i was reading in a magazine a few weeks ago. austrailia has bought the rights to the name skyline for 2006. they will be able to badge the 2006's w/ skyline. too bad the US will be stuck w/ the G35 badge.

I don't think there is a sklyine in the united states that runs 9's on street tires.

The gtr project car from Dsport magazine is attempting this, and has come really close. Last time out it ran 10.34 at 141.

With those shitty low door bars not a single track here would pass it through tech, so that's a pretty big waste of 70 thousand USD.
