any turbo itr?
hey ...any1 got a turbo r? if so...what have u done with the engine and how many psi do you run at the street and track...also if you just have the turbo with all stock engine....how many psi are your running ....and to all turbo itr out there...what's your 1/4 with psi....and what kit do u got? thanks all
There are several board members on here with Turbo Type Rs... The kits they use vary from Drag to F-Max... It is not suggested to boost on a stock R motor, but if you must, only up to 6psi I would imagine.. Talk to "TurboR", he is the most powerful Turbo R in the nation, putting down 10s I believe... Then again, he spent $18,000 on his motor
Some guys are boosting up to 18-20lbs.. Goodluck
It all depends on your budget.

i just got a fmax..but it's for gsr...all i need to do is the pipping right? or is there more to it?i'm planning to run 10 psi on street and 15psi on track...with only low compression gasket for now...that's what this performance shop down in my town said ....but i don't know....then after that..get piston and rods and run 12-15psi on street and 20 on track...all this seem right to all you guyz...i want to check to make sure if this place knows what they doing...thanks again all

I've heard good things about the use of a thicker head gasket in conjunction with turbos, however I think you're being a little optimistic with the boost levels (especially the thought of running 20 pounds on essentially a stock block). Once you start generating enough power you'll break the stock cast piston at the upper ring land, and most likely start to bend the stock rods.
If you want to run big boost, plan on doing rods and pistons at the beginning and save yourself some grief. A J&S would also be a good idea. Which thicker head gasket were you planning on using?
BTW - I'm plannig on turboing my ITR too, Drag III. ed

I just Drove A b-series Turbo, making about 350whp, and I must say I dont like it, i would never turbo my car, any one that has driven a fast 200whp all-motor car, and a 300whp turbo car, they will tell you which one is more fun to drive

But a turbo car will pull anyone on the highway.
Guess where I put most of those miles on the R.
P.S. Good planning (parts and electronics) and tuning go a long way to making a car both driveable and powerful.
