Bit to drill out exhaust bolt
ok so i put my stock muffler back on like 6 months ago but in the process i snapped one of the bolts, its now stuck in the thread, im returning the car to stock and fixing a couple things i wanna make the car in as best shape as possble before i sell
so now im looking for a bit to dril out the bolt i was hoping someone has had some expierence with this and could recomend one, i went to lowes and bought a couple bits and they kinda work a little bit but there just kinda scratching it and ****** it up and not drilling threw it
also iv only got a 12volt cordless is it because the drill doesnt have enough power
anyway and suggestions to get this bolt out whould be really helpfull
thank you for any and all help

i researched this because i had the same probelem only with a rusted bolt. i soaked it in WD40 and then heat it with a butane torch. then drilled a small hole through the center. then used an easy out an dafter the soaking and het it broke loose, i hope this helps. i did this to save me the head ache and time to hellicoil the the threads.

its where the b pipe and the muffler meet, on the b pipe side there is that nut thats welded to the flange, i snapped off the bolt inside that, the bolt is only in the nut it doesnt stick out
im dropping the trans in a couple days to get some work done, and i will take the whole exhaust off and drill the ***** out of it, i think it was also do to the limited space, i could never get the drill straght
so well see in a couple days
thanks again

Snap the nut off the other side, pop the remainder of the bolt out, and then get a nut+bolt+washers to replace it from the hardware store.

No idea if that'll work here, but I inadvertently tried that on a rear suspension piece, and broke a socket and extension...without breaking the nut free.
