Default stereo install..

ok i had a panasonic mp3 deck in i bought a new jvc mp3 deck i installed it yesterday, everything was working fine but my right front speaker wasnt working so i fiddled with all the wires made sure connections were in the right place, i couldnt figure it out so i shoved the deck back in and turned on my car bang deck wouldnt turn on, i pulled everything out disconnected all wires, re attached everything nothing...now my deck is dead, the clock on the dash is no longer turning on and thats all i can tell for now, i check the fuses under the hood and inside the car cabin and none are blown........whats goin on here?

It has to be a fuse! Unless your positive wire touched the ground wire, or a ground for a while, then it's going to be your whole wiring. What ends up happening is the wires heat to 400+ degrees F, and the insulation around the wires melts, exposing the wires, "usually copper". Triple check all your fuses! Your best bet then, is going to be to take it to a reputable shop and have them diagnose the problem for you.

Good Luck!

ok well i checked all fuses again, nothing is blown, so u think my power wire jus touched the metal ?? see when i was puttin the deck on i heard a small spark for a sec but the deck wasnt attached yet and then i attached the deck and it worked fine i plugged in my rcas and my subs were working my bass boost **** off my rockford amp worked then i noticed my right front speaker not working so i pulled it all out and re did up the wires and put the deck back in after that it didnt work anymore....being that my clock on my instrument panel is out, what do u think happened if no fuses are blown??
are the wires dead?

your probably looking in the wrong fuse spot.. check to make sure someone didn't put an uprated fuse in there either.. because it would make it more likly to smoke your wiring if it shorted out.. there should be a diagram of the fuses on the back of the panel door

if your ground hit your positive curent wire you could have blown the head unit. that can't be fixed. for this to happen the car dosn't even have to be on(ie the 12v constant). did you use a wireing harness they cost like $4 and prevents anything even remotly like this from happening
