Default welding angled exhuast ???'s

hey guys i got a few questions for people that may have done this or know how it can be done. ive done quite a bit of welding several years ago when i went to a technical school for auto body so i know a little bit haha. well i got a itr exhuast on my car and i really like the way it flows but the stock sound sucks im looking into getting a apexi universal n1 muffler for it just for the look/sound end of the exhuast. my question is the catback n1 is made so it angles out and a n1 without an angle imo looks funny. so if i were to take this to a muffler shop or do it myself what do you think i would have to do to get it to angle correctly? sorry if this sounds stupid but i have been wondering this for awhile. thanks

a few pics of what i would like it to look like

why do you people have to be ********* all the time. the guy is asking a simple question. people on honda tech have to be such tough guys. so what if he wants a kicked out exhaust its his car and he can do what he wants to it.

I would hang the fart can however you want it and then build the piping from there with mandrel bends. Just how you would do a regular straight muffler.

my buddy worked at a muffler shop and did mine. We supported it with exhaust jacks where I wanted it, and he made up my bends...

And we mounted the exhaust about 1 1/2" out past the bumper because I didnt want to risk melting my rear lip... Not to mention it keeps down on the soot levels with the 10:1 a/f i was running...

because it is about as straight, non restrictive, as you can get it.

so you are telling me that if his pipe went strait out the back it would be more restrictive then it bending down and then up like he wants now

yes we know aftermarket exhaust is better flowing then stock

when you want it angled up you have to add more bends to the system

i get why its at a angle, so you can still use the stock hangers. makes sense now, i thought it was to show off your muffler. i was like how gay can you get.

I'm sorry but that comment is gay.....hahaa

Its common sense for air flow....not for bling....

Get a couple of U-bends and start tacking. It's not really that hard. You just have to visualize the bends and always pay attention on where you want the hangers should be. I did one for a friend. Tack the hangers first then work from there.....

Not quite sure if this would be why, but doesn't "HOT" air i.e. exhaust gases rise? Therefore if its angled up then it would but more efficent. And also the hangers and bling factors... .

yea def. all for the hangers. I bought the rsr gtII and it is straight back then a little angle at the end. I would just take the straight pipe and run it straight back then slap on a 15 degree angle and slide it up and down the straight pipe till the angle is right. Then mark it and cut another straight piece to attach to the 15 degree bend so it matches up with the factory hangers. If you look at the pic lohatch put up the straight exhaust is actually the gtII or the same design anyway. Well in the middle it is a racing style cup where the back half of the piping slides in to the front half. then it is all held toegether by 4 high pressure springs. i found these really helpful and easy that way you can get a little more play into it. just another idea so it makes it a lil easier for you. good luck!! I know it is hard to explain so try searching for gtII's to get a better idea.

Damn, that's some crappy ground clearance... It won't survive 5 mins on Toronto...lol

I think by the time that I need to run the muffler and piping like that, I would rather get a 4" exhaust made I can probably get more ground clearance with a 4" exhaust by routing it the traditional method! All that shitty ground clearance for a dinky 2.5" exhaust It just doesn't add up though...

lol thats my car, and i drove it all over TO for the past 5 years
it has some scraps on it but becuase it;s right between the rear wheels, when the rear wheels go up the pipe go with it, it's perfectly fine

And i have waaaaay more ground clearence than running a 4inch exhaust. It;s tucked up and out of the way every where else except that one spot.
I rubbed more with my EF that had a big 3inch round resonator in the middle of the car, than i do with this.

And it;s angled becuase if the muffler went straight there would be less ground clearence
