Default 98 Accord 4dr EX - Need New Clutch :D

Haha, ok give me a break we've all done stupid stuff...except i just push it to the limit i guess. I wondered if i could start out in 5th geat...well i did...and now i'm paying for it. I dont know which parts of the clutch i need to replace after doing something like that so any help would be appreciated. the car still runs and all i just notice that i dont have the same precision that i used to. i used to would release the clutch, hit the gas and i was movin. now there's like a small delay which is because the clutch isn't catching or something. now that ive explained, help me find a new one. i dont want a stage 3 or anything performance...i actually want a stock OEM clutch. i found a website that sold em but i cant find it anymore.

if anyone could find me a certified Honda OEM clutch i would really appreciate it...that and tell me what all im gonna have to replace. thx

you just gotta search under mechanical parts...put in the info in that search box..it will list all major components...including clutch..then when you click clutch it will give you all the parts of it

do you have any idea which parts i would need to replace? i dont imagine it would have anything to do with the hydrolic system. the actualy clutch system still works the same as it used to, it just doesn't catch as fast as it used to. i suppose that to get the precision i used to its either gonna lie in the disk, flywheel or pressure plate. any ideas?

clutch disk and pressure plate will need replacement.

is the clutch slipping or just not engaging the same? you can have it adjusted to correct the engagement. IMO one start from 5th gear is not going to smoke your clutch.

for OEM honda clutch, go to the dealership. or check hparts.com (that site may or may not still be availble but great prices)

to tell you the truth man i dont really know. i dont have the same connection (as im going to call it, i dont know if its technically correct) that i used to. when i was doing a simple drag with someone off a stoplight, i would let off the clutch and hit the gas and i would go. i can tell now that im being held back a little and i know its because of the clutch...now whether its burned up or what...i dunno. i do know that when i parked the car in the garage it smelled like something had seen a lot of friction and you could smell burned something. now being that i can still drive normally is OK but...lol...i like that quick response i used to have...it made a difference. any other tips or things you think the prob might be?

could be the clutch if you're smelling a burning smell. burnt clutch is a very distinctive smell. if you really hit the gas hard in say 2nd gear do the RPM's go up fast and the car not really move right away?

also IMO you'll pay too much for a honda clutch assembly, get a centerforce (if your motor's stock/bolt ons that is) stock-like engagement, holds well
