Coilvers on 97 civic dx
Hey guys, i don't own a honda, however, my girlfriend has 97 honda civic ex. This car is in no way intended to go fast or even handle well, she just wants it to look nice. So basically i am trying to help her out with her car. I only know about DSMs and i have never lowered a car before. For valentines day i was going to install some coilovers on her car for her (she thinks her cars rims look too small because of the wheel gap). Is there any tech articles or anything that you guys could point me to that would help me in lowering her car? Any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance- Brandon
its easy takes 1hr or less if you dont into any problems
i would recommend you get a new bolt for the lca that connects to the strut they tend to break
also spray the lca bolt for at least 4days with pb blaster or you will break it

Thanks for the tech article, it doesnt seem too hard, i appreciate it. Is there anything else i am going to need besides the spring compressor/ coilovers? i.e. camber kit/ struts?
if you slamming the civic
you would need front cambers
for the back cambers look at this site

struts if you have the money upgrade them search around to see which are good for what height and ride quality
if not you can stay stock for a while b4 they blow

For about an inch to an inch and a half do you think it'd be okay for awhile? cash is kinda tight right now. Or would you say i needed to put a camber kit on right away?
if its an 1in or 1.5inch you be fine
just make sure you take it in for an alignment or u will be buying new tires in a month
i would just go for stock struts
i drop my 94 cx hatch 2.25inch without aftermarket struts its holding up pretty good. also no camber kit and its alignment is good

yep, i'd just watch it cuz she's in for a bumpy ride using stock struts. Good luck! and dont drop the struts or anything on the ground, you'll blow the shock.
