I don't have a quick release hub but the steering wheel / hub is one component that you don't want to **** up. (Safety first!)

So IMO to be safe, I'd go with a trusted Brand name product.

I bought a steering wheel hub adapter for my crx on ebay because it was cheap and when I got it it didnt fit the crx correctly and didnt fit the steering wheel at all..

Just an FYI about ebay stuff..

I use the Tekniq Auto snap off system on my EH2. I couldn't be happier with the quality...no slop in the steering assembly. I've heard knock off brands become loose with time.

I use a Nar-spec splined quick release ($100) that only adds less than 1" to the length along with a Momo (collapsable) hub and it works great. The horn functions as well. I think all quick releases will develop some play after enough time but keep it lubed up and it won't be a problem.

Yeah, I'm very happy with my setup. I don't think the Tekniq adds more than an inch of length either. I just got my horn wired up [my quick release system is on my EH2] and MAN was it a bitch. Yeah, I'll keep mine well lubricated. I think I got out for right at $300 for my Tekniq hub, quick release, and new 350mm steering wheel.

http://www.nar-spec.com has their version 1 (NO SLOP/sticks out under an inch more) for $95 shipped!

edit: tekniq's race snap off kit is nice, but it's 199.99 i like their street one too which is 50 bucks cheaper but it has this ugly locking thing that sticks out on the top right. race one looks cool but dayam 200 bucks.

This is just my opinion. I looked at several different ones and kinda look at it as a theft prevention component first I guess just cause I never want to loose my CRX. If you have that in mind I would look at it this way. I would want something that is not so common like the ones on eBay as everyone and their mama will have one. The one that i really want is the Rap Fix one with the shorter hub ( but I do not know if they make it for EF's...the hub at least)

Here is the hub:

http://www.inlinefour.com/splasbosstee.html

Here is the quick release:

http://www.inlinefour.com/rapquicsteer.html

And here is the lock for it too:

http://www.inlinefour.com/raploccapfor.html

Now I know most of you will say %#$%#$ at the price which I believe is too much too but I also look at it as there will be less of them out there for people to put their steering wheel on it as well! And in the long run if your car was taken would you spend $800 to get it back? I think this might be ment for those who would be devistated if they lost their car.

Just my opinion. Thanks

Yeah, the cool thing about the Tekniq sytem is that it has the lock so nobody can steal you wheel [friends can't prank you] AND each hub comes with a special pattern that is different for each hub, meaning you can't buy another Tekniq hub and snap it onto yours [for the street version anyhow]. Yeah, it cost $300 for everything, but that's quite a bit of piece of mind for me, after knowing that I've sunk nearly $9,000 into my car.

Just an FYI, if you race, you may want to check with your sanctioning body regarding this... they may require that any quick release hub you use has to be SFI approved. If you get one of these hubs that isn't, and they see it, they may not like it... just something to consider

I installed an Ebay release sold by DriftingPerformance on ebay. It has a ton of slop and isn't safe at all. Its going back to the selller. I run a Snap Off on my own car and its great. Pull it off and put it on a few times every day for over a year and its holding up great.

I like my NRG quick release, rock solid. Sure it's just a knock of of rap-fix, but it's a damn good one! Zero Slop.
