Hey there, newbie here... just did a crvtec swap on my 93 EJ. Ok I have quadruple checked my timing and everythings good, plugs are right firing order and all my wiring is legit, but when my car revs to about 3500-4000 it boggs out, similar to rev limiter but more duration revs, and my car backfires hella when i let off. The ecu is throwing only one code and its not any of the 2 vtec codes or firing order code 4, just the auto tranny code *19 (because i got an auto ecu [which still revs out to 7200]) Can anyone help me out?

 

sounds like your auto ecu is trippin b/c it doesnt see the auto tranny sensors. convert your ECU to manual (there are how-tos on this site, just search) and get back to us

 

yep sounds like the auto ecu is messing you up. gotta have that manual ecu for it to run right.

 

True, you would think that the auto ecu would play a big factor in it but This b16 swap I got from another car and before It ran fine, pulled hella and had a check engine light also so idk. I talked to hasport and they said it might be the dizzy so Ill try to figure that out.
