Weird Noises after MSD ignition components install? Opinions ?
I just installed a MSD 6AL, Blaster SS coil, modified distributer cap, and bosch double platinum plugs. Sometimes when I am driving I here a sort of "cluck cluck" noise coming from the front of the car. When I stop and open the hood there is a weird electrical smell, not burning though. Could this because I havent installed my new spark plug wires yet (not here yet)? Is this a issue maybe with timing? Am I frying my altenator with all the MSD components. This is a LS EG6. It had over 80k on it so i went ahead and swapped a bunch of stuff. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!
I have no idea what to tell you about the noise, but I'd say that the smell is you frying your wires. You shouldn't have put all that **** in without some good aftermarket wires. If you have to drive it, I'd take it easy on the car until your wires come.
hmm could it be that I am using platinum plugs. I heard platinum plugs heats up like **** without ignition upgrade. Could I be getting jumps using that? Should I try copper plugs?
