question for people with bogart's or any racing wheel
i was reading on the bogart website and it said not to tow your vehicle with the wheels on. so my question is how many of you tow your car on a trailer without taking the rear skinnies or the fronts off. do some of you put shitty wheels and tires on just to tow and then swap once you get to the track??
Thats what I did the two times I towed my car. I left the stock 13's on the fronts and then bolted the slicks on once I got to the track. I've seen plenty tow with the slicks on though.
what could be a potential problem that could arise if you were to tow with them on?
what makes them any different than any other alloy wheel?

thanks for the reply's guys. i called bogart and they said that it could bend the wheels if the car is strapped down too tight. and i was like damn i dont plan on using a 5 foot breaker bar, and he said that they just dont reccomend it.

i tow with them on no probs just make sure you have full tire presure in them. thats all i could see happening is loosing air and rim hitting trailer unless the car jumps around alot but i have yet to see that

yea i planned on putting alot of air pressure in before i tow. only thing i am worried about is the rear skinnies. but the trailer dont bounce that much.

Just a idea...Could their idea of "in tow" be on a 2 wheel dollie? If so it would make sense to take them off. Ive always towed on trailer with all 4 on. Just a suggestion?

exactly why i am going to trailer the car if i break something i dont have to spend the time to fix it at the track. just put it back on the trailer and watch the rest of the day

you have to think of it in Bogarts point of view. As a manufacturer, you have to say these things for liability and to give the consumer the heads up on risks of keeping them on while towing on the trailer.
There are other cars out there that are 3 times heavier than our cars and with a strong enough jolt to the trailer, the car can bounce and bottom out on the rim and possibly bending them. Its a precaution to the racers. We all know we never follow it, but at least you've thought about it and if it does happen, you dont blame the manuf right away.
