5th gen. advice on lowering components
I have a 5th gen currently sitting on stock suspension. I have some 19x8 inch rims and tires that i had on the car for about 8 months but i want to drop the car and that leaves me hardly anything to work with. Plus tires are EXPENSIVE. So i put the stock wheels and tires back on for a little while. I am probably going to sell the 19's and go with some 17x7 inch rims with a 215/45/17 tire. My car has a body kit on it and i want to know what a good setup would be for the suspension. I want to eliminate the fender gaps but not rub. I was thinking of going with AGX shocks or possibly even Tokico HP's. The adjustability is nice on the AGX's but im not sure if its really needed. Im pretty set on going with Eibach springs but not sure whether to go with the prokit or the sportlines. With 17's, how good does the prokit help the look of the car. I have read about the prokit giving the "boat look" to the car. I want a nice clean look and if it will not rub, the sportlines i would imagine look better due to the lower drop. If anyone has any experience with any of these setups could you please give me some advice.
Also, if i go with the prokit, which will only be about a 1.25" drop, will i need camber kits? or will i be alright without them?

the sportlines would work perfect for you with the AGX's, thats what i might do, and as for a camber kit with the prokit i dont think its needed.
as far as replacement springs go, i would suggest you get some neuspeed sports...they have a nice way of lowering the car and give the car a nice stance...there is about a 2 finger gap in the front and about a 3 finger gap in the rear...
what i would personally suggest though is that you go with some custom rated ground control coilovers mated to kyb agx shocks...they are the best sleeve coilovers in the market and you can order them however stiff/soft you want...on top of that, you can lower and raise your car to whatever height you want to give you whatever stance you want...in my opinion, that will be your best choice

Are the AGX's really worth it for the adjustability? I am still keeping in mind the Tokico HP's to possibly save a little money. Is the non-adjustability going to really hurt the car's ride or make it too bouncy? also, the ground control coilovers and the AGX's is a nice combo, but for that price, would it be better to get a TEIN Basic true coilover system? Ive found some brand new at 700 bucks.
well, it all depends on what kind of ride you want...the tein basic coilovers are basically a nice comfortable semi-sporty suspension...the only adjustability on the basics are just in height, not in dampening...the agx's are probably the nicest shock for the money, just because you can adjust from a nice pleasent comfortable ride to a full out stiff suspension...this becomes nice if you auto-x or do any kind of aggressive weekend driving, but don't necessarily want to always have an aggressive suspension....also, with the ground control coilovers, you can get your own custom rate springs, from nice and soft, to crazy stiff...i just think you get the most for your money with this setup, because of all the adjustability you have to alter the ride whenever you want...
Tanabe feels pretty good, the ride is a little harsh. I have a buddy who has Ground Control coilovers and its rides close to stock, even dropped 2" on 19's. It handles great and stiffens up when it needs to.
Thanks guys. Ill keep all this in mind. I guess ill probably go with AGX's, just have to save up a little more. Still not sure whether i want to go Prokit, Sportline, or Ground Control though. Anybody know where the best places to look up prices on these components?

Anyone know where to get good ground control springs? how do you go about ordering the spring rate for them? I think im gonna go with that set up but i want to get a rate close to stock i guess. Anybody know what rate i should order for the springs?
