i have a gsr motor with 2.25 piping and resonator, and its not to loud at all...
i think you can even get away with running bigger piping... i love the sound and looks
of the exhaust...

garagespecial,

I checked the site http://www.es-sports.com, which muffler do you have?

S-series: part number ES103BD (one with nice tip)
or
S-series: part number ES721UV (one with stock looking tip)?

just stay with stock piping and add an exhaust, it will sound good. i have stock piping with the dual DTM muffler, it sound perfect.

i dont know if you seen the stock piping on a civic but it sucks.....really small in diameter and it look so restricted.....may sound good but thats about it.......

for NA motors..no more that 2 1/4 inch piping for modest mods and SC...they like a little restriction...up to 3 inch for turbo...bigger is not always better

i'm also thinking about an es oval muffler and 2.25 custom piping. i want a quiet but flowing exhaust. does anyone have a recomendation whether i should use a resonator, and if so, what size?

engine wise, i presently have a cai, but want to go for exhaust next, then header, then possibly a cam, ignition. pretty modest stuff. no f/i or anything. should i use a resonator to keep the sound down with those future mods in mind? i plan to keep my cat as well. i want to keep it stealthy.

just try the muffler first..and if its still too loud , then consider a 12 " resonator..ive got 2 1/4 inch piping with resonator..think im going to try the 24 " resonator to quiet the exhaust more..even the speed shop said my exhaust is too loud

deepnite, what type of muffler do you have? do you have a 12" resonator on the exhaust now?
