Default Stronger power steering

93 EG8 and I just got some new strut braces front and rear made a huge difference..... it handles great but the steering seems heavy and I kno Most civics R like this....I also have 17 rims if this contributes 2 the problem........My friend has a 99 accord And when I drove his car I was shocked at how effortless it was and I was wondering if there was a way 2 upgrade my power steering? Like maybe a kit or if there was another car 2 swap it with...........Thanks 4 the time and help appreciate it

work out your arms. i think heavier steering is more stable at high speeds.

i've noticed the lower the car the heavier the steering feel is. but i have never heard of what your asking for. best thing to do is deal with it or buy an accord.

take off your power steering for a while to get a work out. then put your power steering back on. now you'll be buff and your stock PS will feel like moving a pillow.

but really tho, did u change your power steering pulley or something? stock power steering should be easy enough to move with one finger.

I have a slight leak in one of my CV joints but thats about it.......It handles fine and it's not 2 Heavy I jus want 2 know if I can get it lighter.. Maybe its cuz I have a sedan or somethin.......Cuz Lighter steering equals faster wheel response in corners

Also check your tire pressure. If your tires are low then that'll make steering feel alot heavier.

If your into perfomance and high speed racing, than leave your steering stiff. Power Steering at high speeds isn't that hard to handle but if you turn the wheel a little too hard your likely to lose control. Not that dramatic but a car without power steering at high speeds is very easy to control. Also in my opinion, it's much easier to mountain race without power steering....it just feels right. I ono maybe its me? lol..

I remember when I first got my car it was the hardest thing to turn. It has no ps. After getting an alignment [camber adjustment and toe] it feels like a car with ps while driving. Parking is a different situation.

No power steering on a Civic is cake.

I had my PS belt shred on my 4runner. That was crazy.

Ask me what a 1994 Fullsize F-150 Ex-Cab feels like when it throws the serpentine belt that runs all the accessories. Go ahead.

Try smaller rims with skinnier tires.

that's nothing....

try a 1970 triumph spitfite on 12" slicks with a 1.5 turn lock to lock ratio. the steering wheel CANNOT be moved when at a standstill. car had manual brakes as well, which is another rant altogether....

regardless, i think trying to boost the steering more is assanine. personally, i put a larger pulley on my p/s pump to actually slow down the pump and reduce boost for a better steering feel.

I love not having power steering, it's more responsive and i feel like i'm in more control of the vehicle.. just take it off. Your arms will get a workout and it'll be easy after a while

i have had 2 civic SI's. The first one had the PS removed to install a b18. it sucked, the thing was a huge bitch to turn at slow speeds. Heavier steering does not equal a greater control of the vehicle. My current SI has the PS in it. It is much easier to control, steering is much quicker. Making a 3 point turn deosn't leave me out of breath. Much better, not to mention removing the PS makes the brake pedal soft in my car for some reason, very strange.
