DPFI tranny cable question
ok, so Im almost done putting this damn beater together.
91 sedan dx(auto) with 99 dx motor.
I, dont know where this cable goes though...(yes I realize the throttle cable isnt installed properly
)

it comes off the front of the auto tranny here

The throttle cable with the mpfi im

it hooked up to where the throttle cable did on the stock dpfi mani..( two holes and "paths " for 2 diff cables )

thanks for the help

It's the kickdown cable.
You need it to downshift the car under hard acceleration.
Try taking the cable pulley off the new motor's TB and swapping it with the one off your old TB.

I mean that when you floor the car when going up a hill or whatever it should drop down a gear. Since the cable connects to the TB wheel it lets the tranny detect when you are WOT. Without that cable the tranny doesn't know that you are mashing on the accelerator pedal and it won't downshift. You will go up that hill in 4... all boggy and slow.
got it. in the process of swapping over the throttle "lever" from the dpfi mani to the manual mpfi mani..its not 100% at all. i have to grind some of the dpfi lever to work and even then its not 100% right. the throttle will be able to "over" open a little bit when at complete wot(with the gas pedal)..ah well. not looking for a race car here
what a major pain in the *** this is.
putting the dpfi lever on wont work. (doesnt work with that little vaccum thingy).
so im trying to locate an auto Si intake mani.

That sucks.
Maybe try one from a 90/91 EX auto.
Or possibly check out a 92~95 couple Z6 auto. That might be easier to find and the wheel you have might work with it.

well , still havent found any 4g auto's.
did find some accords and a 92-05 hb at the junkyard..didnt pull off the intake mani but took there throttle levers(they are all the same) and they will work...however there still is some modification needed to make them rotate all the way. hopefully this should work.
