hey guys, i was wondering how hard it would be to remove a comptech itr style lip? when i put it on the double stick tape stuck very well, i wanted to know if any of u guys who have a lip from comptech ever took it out? a winter incident happened and my lip is scratched up and i wanna know if i can take it out to repaint it again. also, if any of u could give me ideas that could help remove the scratches that would be great. whether it be wetsanding and buffing or what ever other method i could do. thanks.

 

its that simply.

its only double sided tape.. once u remove the lip, u gotta replace the tape. any car store should carry 3m double sided tape.

just be careful with the paint on your bumper if it was'nt painted/prep well

 

hmm, i just thought it would be harder since the first time i put it on i put it on a little too high so i had to pull real hard. i would imagine it would be even harder since its settled on the paint.

 

ill will be harder.. but not impossible

 

If you have trouble pulling it off, just run a razor blade in between the gap of the bumper and lip. Make sure you are running it along the double sided tape, and not just scraping your paint. Works like a charm
