OBX LSD in a ZC Tranny
Does anyone know if this will work. I know my ZC tranny has a different bearing size then my DX tranny. Is the 40mm the outside Diamiter or inside. I measure the innerdiameter of my DX and got apprx. 35mm.
Will honda have bearing to make it fit?
Anybody done this before?

Ya, that the problem, this is just a car I'm havin fun with for now. It's not worth a 900 lsd!!! I would rather get some forged internals and up the boost first. Oh well. 1 wheel burnouts for me!
I just ran into this problem recently. The thing is that you can't change the differentials from one tranny to the other. We had a tranny man take the two apart to determine this. What you want to do is get one drive shaft end from an Acura Integra and swap it onto the small drive shaft. You want to get the small drive shaft from the Acura not the one that goes into the jack shaft. For the longer drive shaft you have to get inventive. You need to find some one that can get you a Honda Accord axle end. The reason is that the Honda Accord's is a bit longer and is also a 40' in diamiter so you have to find the right axle seal. I think I used a 38 X 40 X 8 but that's just off the top of my head.

Other then a OEM LSD or Phantom Grip are there any options?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Just switch to the unequal length axles from the USDM D series cars. Then you can use the OBX diff. If you need to, you can also switch tranny housings to find one that will fit the diff bearings. The ZC has the larger bearing (40mm inner diameter) pockets in the housing, whereas the DX will have the smaller (35mm inner diameter).

Ya, I not sure what to do. I would like to keep the equal length drive shafts. I hate torque steer. or would that be eliminated with the equal powr distribution?
i think the only way youll keep the equal length axles is if you find an lsd that came out of a zc from the factory. they were an option, so they are out there.... otherwise i think your stuck with the si lsd and unequal length shafts
Torque steer will actually get worse with an LSD. I quite frankly don't understand this fear of torque steer though. I've had many Civics over the years, and with varying levels of power (upwards of 180 whp at times), and I've autocrossed them, lapped them on the track, and driven somewhat aggressively on the street at times, and I have never "felt" that there was excessive torque steer in any of them.
Then I've had co-drivers at a few autocross events that comment on the huge amounts of torque steer in my car. Maybe I've driven FWD with unequal length axles for so long, I've completely lost all sensitivity to it.

im kind of the same way... drove a friend's 04 srt-4 and when he asked "isnt the torque steer crazy?!" i hadnt really noticed it....

i dont think quaife makes an lsd for the zc tranny, but only for the d16a6 tranny. i know you can stick the d16 tranny quaife into the zc tranny, but im pretty sure your stuck with the unequal length axles because of how the axles fit into the dif. in my opinion... if you havent got the tranny yet, look for the zc that came with lsd.
yea it won't have a pin if the center of the diff. look through the hole where the axle goes into the tranny if you see a pin inside you don't have an lsd if you do.....jump up and down and rub your head you luck *** bastard you.
QUESTION since the zc tranny intermediate shaft and diff accepts inner hubs of a intergra axle will an intergra quaife diff fit in a zc?

Just put one in my ZC tranny and everything fits well. But you will need to probably still use your DX axles. Those are the ones I will be using.
