they wont paint your civic with your paint...they use their own paint (acrylic based) meaning they dont use base coat and clear coat like regular paint jobs

i've seen pretty decent paint jobs, with some body work that maaco offers for $650 or so. i also believe its not the single stage either, but who knows.

i saw this kids championship white paint job and it looked good. i didn't know it was a maaco paint job until he told me. just don't expect it to be showcar quality or anything.

make sure you tape it off urself, painting a car is 90% preparation, and they will paint whatever u don't cover lol

just remember that you get what you pay for. Like AzntaggeR said, don't expect to get a showcar out of it. and like Soccerking3000 said, do as much prepping as you can. But do expect some overspray to get on a few places...it just happens. My motto is Just say no to Maaco...but that's because my dad owns a bodyshop...

Also remember you can still pay a lot of money and get a crappy job. Make sure you go to a reputable body shop that you know others have been too and can vouch for.

It's not perfect, but the best $450 I've ever spent.

anybody else got pics of good or bad maaco jobs?

i want to paint my wagon some day, and i can't really justify paying more for the paint job than i paid for the car.

would i be better off just finding a cheap independent shop? perhaps buying my own paint?

There's the $249, $399, $599, and $1099... I am wondering which paint quality you went with.

Man I am such a retard. Expecting someone to post a Maaco paint job in the Maaco thread... what a goof I am.

Previous owner of my car went there. I've got orange peal, spots that aren't painted, chips, and some spots that are rusting cause of the chips. I need to get this thing fixed soon.

Depends, every shop is different, and you can't speak for them all just because it's the same company. I'd say overall they have a really poor reputation, but for example, the one close to here happens to please most of it's customers, and they do quality honest work for the money.

It's best to find out about the particular one your interested in going to first. Look at what cars are coming out of there, make sure the same guys are working on yours who's doing the good work etc.
