personally: i have a JDM swap and the vin is gone (legit swap and all). i don't want to be screwed when a cop pulls over my rrrice rrrocket and asks me to pop the hood (as they are known to do) and give me a hard time about the swap... they can run it if they want, the block is stamped, w/e, i just don't want to be hassled...
