I am planning to replace my port. valve after i did a rear disk swap on my 97 civic ex...

after checking a few different sources on the the topic of bleeding sequence....i got 4 different answers?????

here is goes:

Haynes manual for 96-00 civics & 94-98 integra:
1) right / rear
2) left / front
3) left / rear
4) right / front

Chilton manual for 96-00 civic: (this one seems really weird to me....)
1) left / front
2) right / front
3) right / rear
4) left / rear

Helms manual for 96-00 civic:
1) rear / right
2) front / left
3) rear / left
4) front / right

and others had said to always bleed from the far-est to the close-est so:
1) right / rear
2) left / rear
3) right / front
4) left / front

SO which way should i do it? there must be ONE right way! let me know what u guys think.....

honestly...i dont think there's a particular order you have to do them by...i've done brakes on all types of vehicles and i've never had to do them in any order. Just make sure you get ALL the air out of your system and double bleed them too...just in case

 

the normal rool of thumb with any car is you start from the farthest away from the master cylinder, which in your case would be..

right rear, left rear, right front, left front

**order doesn't really matter as long as all the air is out..**

This is the way I've always done it . . . start with the furthest distance from the MC, then move to the opposite corner since Honda uses diagonal channels.

It won't really matter what order you bleed them in though, as long as you get all the air out, right?

How can you go wrong with what the factory service manual states??

 

I've always done it according to the Helms, but that's because I trust it more than any of those other sources.

1-right rear
2-left front
3-left rear
4-right front

Is it me or do I find these two identical? I mean, isn't "right/rear" the same as "rear/right"?

your right... but seriously, order is not the problem...it's making sure you do it properly, also getting all the air out.

the helms and the haynes are the same. just switched wording

 

I know it's big but you get the point.
