i have a 94 civic cx hatch with a d16z6 swap in it when i had the swap done i had the fan hooked up to a switch as opposed to having it hooked up direct well now im regretting it because my car is always blowing switchs that are hooked up to the fan im sich of replacing them so im goa wire it up direct but im not taking my car backto the shop i was wondering if anyone had a diagram on how to wire up my fan direct so whwn i start my car the fan will turn on with it thanks

 

Just get a bigger amp switch I have a 91 DX with a B18a and the fan would not work I had to wire it and have had the same switch for three years now.

 

i know i heard that but i dont want it hooked up to a switfh i want it direct would i just hook one wire up to battery and ground the other?

 

The right way would be to put a relay in or at least a inline fuse so you dont destroy the fan by overloading it.

 

cut the fan wires....ground the negative....and run the postive side inside and tap it into your fuse box on like the radio fuse or one with switched 12v. thats the only way, there are no switched sources under the hood. **** wiring it with a switch. to figure out which is pos and which is neg wire...when you have the positive wire touching the battery and the neg grounded...the fan will blow towards the engine(correct way)...if you have the neg wire on the battery and the pos wire on the ground....the fan will blow out the front of the car.

 

thanks i will do that tonite for the moment i got a switch from wal mart for a 1.50 to get me by but im sick of a switch.

 

why do you need the fan on all the time?

anyways, you can tap the thermo swtich wires instead. just run a switch to the 2 wires going to the thermoswitch. when they're connected, the fan turns on via the stock fan relay. there's barely any current going thru the switch so you can even use a tiny switch
