After my black dash install i recieved some problems with my car. I unplugged allt he wiring harness that was attached to the dash and as soon as i was done installing all interior peices and plugged all my plugs back in i go to start the car. i press on the brake and try to shift into D4 or R. When i do this the button to shift does not press in for me to shift into gears. What could be the reason for this because i did not mess with anything near the shifter console.

Is this from me unpluggin the plugs connecting to the dash? If so how do i go about fixing or reseting it so this problem can be fixed??

no...i put my key in the shift lock slot too...still nothing

 

check your brake lights.. the shifter will lock up if the brake lights aren't functioning correctly.

brake light switch or neutral safety switch
