Ok, I'm finally installing my max rev manifold... how did you guys get the turbo to clear your rad fans ? The manifold positions the turbo so far out that not even my FAL fans fit (In fact, I had to yank the fans out just to test fit the manifold...)

the fan near the AC compressor I mounted in front. I had no problems clearing the main fan. I have el cheapo Autozone Fans. Your barely getting the manifold on? How come the long downtime?

 

I haven't had time (or a welder) to fix it until now

I can't really mount my fal fans in front.. they're once piece.

what did you need to weld? the downpipe?

ouch about the fal fans. I'll trade you if you want! I got a 12" and a 10" autozone fan seperate!!

 

Hmm, ok well I just took the condenser out. Hehe. I'm taking the entire A/C system out.

Mounting the fal fans on the front and reversing fan polarity.... I think I'll wire the two fans together so they both run.

Downpipe, dumptube, closed loop system.

In addition to a bunch of other things But yes, mainly the downpipe.

I also had to flip the blade and run reverse polarity like you mentioned.

 

Dont do the weak surface tig welds, like Ive seen on the downpipes we first made. We corrected that problem also on the new downpipes.

Thats wierd both my fans radiator and a/c have good clearance. BTW gsr in a civic coupe.

 

There must be some difference between the motor->radiator clearance with GSR in civic chassis then....

How much room is there needed to fit the turbo and the fal fans the way they are ment to be sitting. I'm asking because I have the same setup as you so I know what i'm gona run in to....

Oh by the way are the fal fans pushers or pullers???

Well, if you mount the fans inside the engine bay where the stock fans mount, you should buy a puller. If you mount it on the other side where the ac condenser would be, than you should get a pusher.

I'm also curious how much space there is with the maxrev manifold in an integra, for clearing the a/c fan. Are the fal fans too deep? Anyone got theirs on yet?

Fans can be a puller or pusher that's why Dustin mentioned reversing the polarity.

 

Well, since the AC is out I went and bought some 3" mandrel bends and I'm making a full 3" DP

Ahh, I just tack welded the dp piece that curves around under the oil pan in place... ahh the 3" DP fits!! haha. I am glad to be rid of that pesky AC compressor!

my maxrev manifold fits with both fans intact (radiator one slightly cut) cause the turbo basicly sits between them in a 00 civic si (i know it fits differently with a gsr motor/civic and also an integra)
