Default Wiring HIDs, which wire is postive

I'm doing a rebase 9006 setup, I was wondering which wiring going to the headlights is positive and which is negative so I can hook up the ballast. For the lowbeam, there is a red/yellow and a orange/white wire going to the lightbulb. Which one is positive? Also, what kind of connectors did you use to connect that to the ballast wire? I don't want to cut the light socket incase I want to put the stock lightning back.

Well I never had to cut any wires installing my HID kit. The harness on the lights plugged directly into the stock wiring harness.

Head lights off or on, use your mulitmeter to check those wires for continuity with a good chassis/engine ground. One wire will show little or no resistance. This is the ground or 0VDC wire.

If you turn on the headlights and check for voltage with the black lead on a good chassis/engine ground the other wire will show 12-14VDC when probed with your red lead.
