yeah it didnt keep its charge, i drove around like 30-45 minutes till i got home then turned it off, so like i said it could be the alternator not recharging, the battery not keeping the charge or the starter not starting the car

is there any way i can find out for sure

probably the battery, if its original, i'd go ahead and replace it.. you can have it tested before replacing.

You can test the alternator by removing the negative battery cable to see if it maintains a charge. If it doesn't then you know the battery is shot.

You can test load your battery at any auto parts chain store that provides this service free of charge.

yea i was gonna say, its not the alternator because if the battery dies while your driving all the lights will start to get dim andthe car will shut off. And also, you wouldn't be able to drive around for 20 mins on a dead battery and a blown alternator.

Glad you got the new battery in and everythings fine.
