I need help. '98 Accord, 4 cyl, LX, over 151K miles.
Suddenly, my car has a loud engine sound, as if there's a hole in the muffler; there is none. I changed the oil and spark plugs, it was time to. Have a K&N air filter which I cleaned at about 100K.
I get no power, the engine is loud when I drive it and on 1/2 tank, I'm getting 80 miles.

What could the problem be?

 

Check the exhaust system including manifold ?

 

emissions...probably the cat among other things

holy ****.....that sucks hella bad

 

Did you plug all the wires and spark plugs back in all the way?

I would check your exhaust manifold/header for any exhaust leaks but that shouldn't really be causing that major fuel consumption...that would be by a clogged cat or bad o2 sensor.
