Some acceleration problems
Honda's do last forever. 1989 Honda Accord LX-I F/I over 300k miles.
To the point, When I step on the gas the engine will accelerate very slowly and making a poping sound until 2k rpm's. Then it completly stops and accelerates fast as all hell jumping to atleast 5k. Even if i keep my pedal at the same spot. I like to hear the sound of the rpm's hitting like that but hate the poping sound. Im thinking its a possible exhaust leak. Or its because i dont have a down pipe for my aftermarket air intake its just clamped to the throttlebody. Any tips would help. (spark plugs changed 4 months ago NGK plugs)

The loudness of the poping sorta sounds like a backfire but im now guessing that its being caused by a restriction in the exhaust. My muffler has a huge dent in it id say 5" in.
the fuel delivery is a bit slow gotta keep it up at 4k rpm's when first starting it for 30 secs. But the rpm's jump fast like its supposed to while its in park/neutral but not while its in drive/reverse. It will stall in drive at a stoplight so i gotta keep it in neutral at stoplights
Throw a dist rotor in it. Those TEK rotors have a bad habit of 'leaking' voltage to ground under load; while you have the dist cap off spray the inside of it with brake clean or carb cleaner, and let it evaporate out. If there are any cracks in the cap it will show up like a gray hairline.
