Kenny tran?
wanted to know what keeny tran is up to? will he be running the hatchback this year? it seemmed like 2 years ago he was fast as hell and last year he changed tranny and and crew members and slowed down a little. i know jj olson is taking big steps to defend the honda name wanted to know what steps if any kenny tran is taking. after the lost of gary all we have in hotrod is kenny and jj.unless someone else is coming out.
Don't forget about Chuck from Alternative Motorsports (8.53) and Drew from Deepstage Motorsports (8.60) Brian from Prodrag (8.50). There's also Sav, Joe Demaree, and more. Don't count the hondas out just yet...

8.50 is a long way away but Brian and crew were able to accomlpish that in just three races. The Pro Drag car along with all of the others that Tony listed should be very competitive this coming year.

Well, Brian from Prodrag has alot more in his setup, he's only got like 12 passes on the new setup. Chuck's making a big step up for next year. Not sure what all Drew is doing but i'm sure he's not going backwards! As far as i know, all 3 cars will run the whole NDRA series, and I think Brian is running both series. You gotta keep in mind, the gm guys should slow a little at least, the 70mm turbo restriction will definitely hurt them. I think it'll be a low 8 sec. class next year. I think you'll see 7's now and then, but not on the regular. I think a consistent 8.30 car will have a good shot at the championship. If you can go rounds consistently the points will add up. Chuck won the NDRA championship by consistently running decent, it wasn't until the final NDRA race that he really went ***** out on the car. He also worked through most of his motor issues, so this year we can work on making more power. His issues weren't power related last year.

Just so nobody gets pissed off, I was on the phone with JJ when i made that post. Just joking around. He was already mentioned that's why i didn't mention him, but I really think he will be in the top 3 hondas, right behind my guys!
No more slipper clutches & T-70 Turbos?

I think you said it best 70 mm turbo limit will diffently hurt the GM guy this reason should be pretty good for the honda cars.I was reading about JJ's new setup for this reason thet thing is insane cant wait to see it run I just wish NHRA had nore love for the west coast and held more events over in cali
But ya I really havent heard much about kenny tran last year hopefully he comes out this year at full force

I am sure most of the honda's will pick up this year. We went 8.66 on gas with a stock trans, and with a 72mm turbo. We are switching to alcohol and making a big turbo change. Looking for more power. I am sure the cars with the xtrac can continue to improve. Good luck to all the hondas this year.

I would think that the slipper clutch would hurt just as bad as the turbo for the GM guys. I think Kenny still has an extremely competitive car, Im sure it'll be faster this year!!! So will JD's too
