did i do this right
just installed and bled my radiator
filled the radiator fluid to the top with the cap off, turned on my car squeezed the top radiator hose and saw all the air bubbles escape did this for 5 mins until the car reached normal operating temp. i had to add fluid once or twice but when i was done i had to barely add any at all, but i re-opened the cap and addded so more again, is that ok or do i have to re-do it now?
Just leave the cap off for a while when the car is running, air will travel to the highest point which is the radiator filler neck. Might want to put a towel over the neck so it will reduce the splashing.

As long as the thermostat opens you will be fine, usually if you watch the coolant in the filler neck it will sink or rise a little when the thermostat opens. Or just wait until you car gets to operation temps, and then let it sit for 10 more mins and by that time the thermostat should open. Although its hard to go off the stock gauges because if you ever get an aftermarket gauge you will see the aftermarket gauge go from 120 to 180 and the stock gauge will never move. Also make sure your heater valve is open, but don't have the heat fully blasting or else the car will never get hot ( depending on the weather )
Anyways only reason the manual says wait for the fan to come on, is because they want you to keep the car on long enough for the thermostat to open.

o rif you feel both the hoses that leads to the radiator, if the top one is warm and bottom one is cold,this means that the thermosat is closed.if bottom one is hot the thermostat is open!

You guys do know there is a bleeder valve for this right?
B series location:

You loosen that and slowly fill the radiator
until it shoots out a solid stream of coolant from the bleeder..
Since the bleeder is at the highest point in the cooling system,
the air is forced out as the coolant is added.

Finding it on a b series and getting to it is not always easy, plus leaving the cap off is so much easier. Good stuff though Phil
