I want to know if anyone in here has installed one of these units and what kind of results did you get from it. I have been thinking of getting one but they are hella $$$$ is it worth spending over 700 buks on a cam. Do you need to upgrade the valve springs and other stuff along with it? Someone give me some info on it.

 

$700? are you sure it's that much? I wouldn't pay that much ... anyways, you don't have to upgrade springs if you're not revving past the stock redline

On the Crane web site they list for over 700 buks. I dont know of anyone who has used one yet and I would like to know more about them before I go and buy something. So is there anyone out there that knows anything about these cams for the d16y8 and do you know where I can get one?

 

What about Zex?? Is that a company that would be of interest to you? They have excellent prices and I've heard the results are pretty impressive.

in calif..if u install a hi performace cam in a D16..all of sudden u wont pass smog..ive got a pretty honest speed shop for info

 

zex doesn't make a cam for the y8 yet i thought they only had one for the z6. hey ringgold thought u had a webcam cam already. i know i'm gonna get flamed on this one but u could try gude. a couple of my friends used to run gude's stuff and had pretty good results at least for the d-series stuff. i think i have seen the crane cam somehwere in the 550 ranges can't remember where but i know i saw it. still not worth the money in my opinion.

 

Hey ringgold, if you end up buying another cam, I'll buy your stock cam off you. I'm going to do a Y8 minime swap and I found out that the collar at the end of my cam is broken.-
