Rebuilding D16. What measurements I need for bearings (main/rod)
Im rebuilding a d16a6, I bought it off a member off of here and dont have it in my hands yet. Now because of how long its taking for this block to get to me (going on 7 weeks) I have to buy my bearings without even having the crank infront of me
Now as far as I know the crank is stock, so what kind/size of bearing should I tell the distributor for?
Also, the main bearings, where do they go? will they always be one size?
Ive never rebuilt a Honda block so I dont even know where the "main" bearings go nor what they are for, or thrust washers n ****
Need some help
Thanks

In the factory shop book the list the bearing colors. The block has letters and the carnk has numbers, you then look for the color that goes with the letter-number combo. Like B3=green(thats not a real code) The rods are the same way. This is the best way to do it. You will have to get the bearings from the dealer. It usally runs about 300 bucks for all the bearings. If you decide to get some ACL or other type of bearing get a std size bearing and check the clearances.
Would someone be able to tell me exactly what MAIN bearings are for
I know what rod bearings are, Ive rebuilt a 350 chevy before, I know there betweent eh spinning crank and the rods, but I dont see what other bearings would be used or were.
You guys should have seen my face when I was swapping cams, I was like
"OMG, my cam bearings are comletely ******* worn"
lol, because Id only ever touched a 350 and they have em, didnt know Honda was like that, kinda scared me

Are you serious???
They do the same thing for the crank/block connection as rod bearings do for the rods/crank
