Default Clock dimmer

I searched in recent/archived topics & saw no reference to the clock dimmer. Which wire can be cut so that the clock does not dim when the headlights are on? TIA

Edit: BTW, I am asking this in reference to 92-95 civic's

If you don't have the manual, find the wire yourself easily by using your test light. There are four wires: ground, constant power for memory(+), ignition signal (+), and headlight signal for dimmer (+).

Hook the ground of your test light up to some exposed metal on the chassis (ground). Unplug the wire harness from the back of the clock and test each wire with the ignition on. There will be only two wires that don't light up the test light, the ground and the headlight signal. Turn the headlights on, and of the two wires that didn't light up the test light, one will now have power. Cut that wire, but not too close to the harness so you can reconnect it in the future if you decide to. Also make sure you mask off the end of the wire that you cut so it doesn't make contact with anything else in there when the lights are on.

I was trying to save myself the time of doing that, i assumed that someone on HT would know the color of the wire. I guess that I will bust out the trusty test light after work.

Thanks for the input

Even if someone DID post the color of the wire, they could be wrong and you could end up cutting the wrong wire. It's best to always test yourself anyways. Even if you read it from the Helms wiring diagram, test for it anyways. It will take less time to test it then it did to read my post of how to test it. Good luck to you!

I didn't mean to imply that you are posting misinformation, I actually replied to his post and started entering my message before I saw your reply. You got in there before me.
