Default Crunchy Reverse

I just bought a 95 del sol si 5spd. Reverse seems to grind a bit, do you think that could be due to the fact i may need a new clucth?

Thanks,

Yes, it could. Have you tried putting the car in 2nd and then reverse?

yep and some domestics also like to be shifted into a forward gear before going into reverse because reverse gears aren't synchronized so shifting into a forward gear helps to eliminate the grind before going into reverse.

yup, happens to me alot. Finally figured to put it in fwd gear first and not push all the way far right, b4 putting it in reverse. I usually use 2nd gear.

this is a problem with all manuals. its always recomended to step on the clutch for a few seconds before shifting into reverse or you can shift forward into any gear. its not a clutch problem.
